The Soil- A Reflection
You have completed the first 8 weeks, the first 8 Monsters, and the first 8 teachings. You started with Ashen, standing in the ash, unaware of his own warmth. You learned to see where you actually are.
You moved to Root, buried beneath the earth, fused to what she could not release. You learned what you have been holding onto.
You met Drift, floating endlessly, searching outside himself. You learned that the answers are within.
You looked at Hollow, empty and numb. You learned to name what is present.
You faced Burrow, digging deeper, hiding from everything. You learned to turn around and face what you have been avoiding.
You heard Echo, repeating what was never his. You learned to question and find your own voice.
You watched Seer, seeing everything and doing nothing. You learned that knowing is not enough. You have to act.
And now you sit with Stone, still and unmoving, calling stagnation peace. You are learning to move..
What The Soil Has Taught You
The Soil is the foundation. It is where everything begins. It is the ground beneath your feet.
It taught you to look at where you actually are. Not where you wish you were. Not where you think you should be. Where you actually are.
It taught you that you cannot grow from a place of delusion. You cannot build on a foundation that is not real.
It taught you that you have been holding onto things that are not yours. You have been carrying weight that belongs to someone else. You have been fusing to what should have been temporary.
It taught you that the answers are not outside you. They are within. You have been searching for something that was never outside yourself.
It taught you to name what is present. Not what you wish was there. Not what you think should be there. What is actually there.
It taught you to face what you have been avoiding. To stop digging. To turn around. To look at what is right in front of you.
It taught you to question what you have been repeating. To separate truth from noise. To find your own voice.
It taught you to tell yourself the truth. One honest sentence about where you are right now.
And now, in Week 8, it is teaching you to let this be enough.
So, what comes next you Ask? I am glad that you asked this.
The Soil is the foundation. The Mirror is the reflection.
The Soil showed you where you are standing.
The Mirror will show you what you have been refusing to see.
The Soil taught you to look at yourself honestly.
The Mirror will teach you to see your own participation in your stagnation.
The Soil is the beginning. The Mirror is the deepening.
A Moment To Honor
You have completed The Soil. That is not nothing. That is everything.
Most people never look at where they are actually standing. Most people never name what is present. Most people never face what they have been avoiding.
You did. You sat with the monsters. You read the stories. You asked yourself the questions.
You did the work.
Now it is time to let it be enough. You do not need to solve everything right now. You do not need to fix everything right now. You do not need to become someone else right now.
You only need to see. You only need to name. You only need to be honest.
The Tools Of The Soil
How to carry them forward.
You have completed The Soil. Eight weeks. Eight monsters. Eight teachings. You have looked at where you are standing. You have seen what you have been holding. You have faced what you have been avoiding.
But The Soil is not a place you leave behind. It is the ground you stand on for the rest of the journey. The tools you learned here are not temporary. They are yours to keep. They are yours to use. They are yours to return to whenever you need them.
Here are the tools. Here is how to carry them forward.
Tool 1: Honest Self-Assessment
What It Is: Looking at where you actually are. Not where you wish you were. Not where you think you should be. Where you actually are.
How to Keep Using It: Every morning, take one minute. Ask yourself: "Where am I actually standing right now?" Do not edit the answer. Do not soften it. Just tell the truth. That is the practice. That is how you stay grounded.
Tool 2: Grounding in Reality
What It Is: Knowing your current level of peace, self-knowledge, and honesty. Naming what is real, not what you hope is real.
How to Keep Using It: When you feel lost or overwhelmed, stop. Place your feet flat on the floor. Feel the ground beneath you. Ask yourself: "What is actually true right now?" Then build from there. Not from fantasy. From reality.
Tool 3: Letting Go of External Searching
What It Is: Realizing that the answers are not outside you. They are within. You have been looking in the wrong places.
How to Keep Using It: When you catch yourself looking for answers from other people, from books, from the internet, from anywhere outside yourself, stop. Sit in silence. Ask yourself: "What is already within me?" Let the answer come. Trust it.
Tool 4: Naming What Is Present
What It Is: Identifying what is actually there. Not what you wish was there. Not what you think should be there. What is actually there.
How to Keep Using It: When you feel something you cannot name, sit with it. Ask yourself: "What is actually here?" Then name it. Out loud. On paper. In your mind. Naming it gives you distance from it. Naming it gives you power over it.
Tool 5: Finding the Avoidance
What It Is: Discovering what you have been pretending not to know. Turning around. Facing what you have been burying.
How to Keep Using It: When you feel the urge to distract, to avoid, to bury, stop. Catch yourself. Say out loud: "I am avoiding something right now." Then ask yourself: "What am I pretending not to know?" Let the answer come. Then look at it. Do not turn away.
Tool 6: Separating Truth from Noise
What It Is: Learning to tell the difference between what you know and what you are assuming, fearing, or hoping.
How to Keep Using It: When your mind is full of noise, when you cannot tell what is real, stop. Write it down. Every thought. Every fear. Every hope. Every assumption. Then ask yourself: "What do I know for certain?" That is the truth. The rest is noise. Let it go.
Tool 7: Telling Yourself the Truth
What It Is: One honest sentence about where you are right now. No performance. No editing. No softening.
How to Keep Using It: When you feel stuck, when you feel confused, when you feel lost, complete this sentence: "The truth about where I am right now is..." Say it out loud. Write it down. Let it be real. Then let it guide you.
Tool 8: Letting This Be Enough
What It Is: Awareness is a beginning, not an instruction to panic. You do not need to solve everything right now. You only need to see.
How to Keep Using It: When you feel overwhelmed by everything you have seen, stop. Breathe. Remind yourself: "I do not need to fix everything right now. I only need to see. That is enough." Then let it be enough. Then begin again tomorrow.
HOW TO CARRY THESE TOOLS FORWARD
These tools are not a checklist. They are not a one-time thing. They are a practice. They are something you return to over and over again.
The Soil is the ground beneath your feet. You stand on it every day. You return to it whenever you need to. You use these tools for the rest of your journey.
The Mirror will show you what you have been avoiding. The River will show you what you have been carrying. The Garden will show you what you are planting. The Veil will show you what you already know. The Inversion will show you what your wounds came to teach you. The Crown will show you what you have earned.
But The Soil is always there. The ground is always there. You can always return to it. You can always use these tools. You can always begin again.
That is the gift of The Soil. It is the foundation. It is the beginning. It is where everything starts.
A Year Long Journey
Some of you signed up not realizing that this journey that we entered into is 52 weeks, a year long Journey. This is not a quick fix, a one-time read, and definitely not something that you should easily finish and forget.
Every week, you meet a new monster. Every week, you receive a new teaching. Every week, you are invited to look at yourself honestly and choose differently.
The journey follows seven phases. Each phase builds on the last. Each phase opens something new.
The Seven Phases
Phase | Weeks | Focus |
|---|---|---|
The Soil | 1-8 | Honest self-assessment |
The Mirror | 9-16 | Facing avoidance |
The River | 17-24 | Releasing what no longer serves |
The Garden | 25-32 | Intention and patience |
The Veil | 33-40 | Intuition and inner knowing |
The Inversion | 41-48 | Turning wounds into wisdom |
The Crown | 49-52 | Integration and wholeness |
Each phase is designed to open something in you. Each phase builds on the last. By the end of the year, you will have been guided through a complete transformation.
Why a Year
You cannot rush this work. You cannot skip ahead. You cannot consume it in a weekend and expect it to change you.
Real change takes time. Real growth takes patience. Real transformation takes more than a year.
One monster at a time. One teaching at a time. One week at a time.
You sit with the monster. You sit with the teaching. You let it work on you. Then you move to the next.
That is how change happens. Not in a moment. Not in a flash. In the slow, steady, consistent showing up.
What You Will Receive
Every week, you will receive:
One monster story from the monster's point of view
One piece of original linocut art
Honest teachings
A reflective question to sit with
A daily action to take
A practice for the week
You will also receive guidance on how to master the teaching if it hits home.
What You Will Experience
You will meet monsters that reflect your own patterns. You will see yourself in their stories. You will feel the truth of the teachings land in your body.
You will face what you have been avoiding. You will release what you have been carrying. You will plant what you want to grow. You will learn to trust your intuition. You will turn your wounds into wisdom. You will step into your own authority.
You will change.
Not all at once. Not overnight. But slowly. Steadily. Week by week. Monster by monster. Teaching by teaching.
The Commitment
This is a year-long journey. It requires commitment. It requires patience. It requires showing up.
You do not need to be perfect. You do not need to have it all figured out. You only need to be willing.
Willing to look. Willing to see. Willing to change.
If you are willing, the journey will meet you where you are. It will guide you through the dark. It will bring you home to yourself.
The Gift
This is not just a newsletter. It is a journey. It is a transformation. It is a year of your life dedicated to seeing yourself clearly and choosing differently.
52 weeks. 52 monsters. 52 teachings.
One year.
One journey.
One you.
This journey continues. I will see you in The Mirror.
